The Cheney Cemetery Association was incorporated in 1917 for members of the family and descendants of John Cheney of Manchester, Connecticut. The family owned and operated silk manufacturing business, Cheney Brothers, flourished in Manchester from its founding in 1838 until the 1950s. The Cemetery Association maintains the burial grounds in Manchester, sponsors genealogical study and supports organizations who promote the Town of Manchester and the history of Cheney Brothers.
